ACNE:
My skincare journey was a rough one. It is very hard to find something that really works with your skin. Not to mention your skin changes as you age.

As a young teen, my face was very acne prone. I did not have it REAL bad like many others, but it was all over my forehead, chin, and jawline. I had the red bumps and some black heads. Nothing crazy though. I actually did not have any on my cheeks. I did not start having any on my cheeks until was out of high school, a few years ago. Which I found odd because I did not have that problem before.

Things I have tried for preventing acne:

Pretty much every drugstore brand. What was "better" out of the drugstore brands was probably clearasil. I used the pad things or the face wash.

I have tired the acne free brand that has numbered products like proactiv. That was a bad idea. I broke out really bad. I was worse than before. I thought I would try it out a little longer, but it never got better.

I tried something from the doctors and it was better, but it was like a paste thing. I didn't really like using it. I also had pills that came with it. I liked how it was better, but it still wasn't what I wanted. My was dry and I needed a good moisturizer.

I finally was able to try proactiv my senior year of high school. It really did save my life. I looked into it. I knew some people did not have a good experience, but some had really good ones. I also heard that proactiv had pretty much the same stuff in it as acne free, so that made me nervous to try it. But I was desperate. I wanted to feel pretty. I wanted to not hide anymore or feel embarrassed to be seen. Acne really does bring you down.

I saw results instantly. It wasn't clear, but my skin looked more even and finally it cleared up! Finally. After all those years. You have to keep up with it. You have to clean your face everyday, sometimes I do not and I get a few pimples. Nothing as bad as it was. If I am really good at cleaning my face, it can look almost flawless. It even took care of some of the scaring I had.

I do want to try something new, because I feel like proactiv is not working as well as before, but it really does do better than anything else I have tried.

I use the three main products, the face mask, and the green tea moisturizer. I love love love the green tea moisturizer. It is the best one out there. The mask is real good to. Try them out!

I am super sad that I have acne this bad at age 22, but all well. I will try to keep my face clean!

Other skincare I use is:

mark. see things clearly: brightening moisturizer- this feels so soft and does a good job with keeping my face hydrated.

mark. calming effect: comforting milk cleanser- this is a nice wash and smells really good! It makes your skin so soft and clean.

mark. mist opportunity: muli-tasking refresher- just a nice quick refresher. Smells good and keeps your skin healthy.

mark. body lotion- this keeps my dry legs hydrated!

Noah's naturals natural age repair: Night cream- this is a thicker moisturizer and I obviously use this a night. I do not always do this, but I like to use this time to time.

St. Ives Fresh Skin: Make-up remover and facial cleanser- This does a good job with taking off makeup. It takes a little while, but hey it is natural.

alba aloe & green tea- oil free moisturizer- This is thick, but does a good job with keeping my skin moisturized.

alba papaya enzyme- facial mask- This is not my favorite, but this mask is nice. It is thin and easy to use. It is all natural like the moisturizer.

Tree Hut Shea Body Butter-Almond & Honey- This is a really good body butter. It smells heavenly and it is certified Organic Shea butter which is plus. :) It makes my skin super soft!

I use burt's bees chap stick.

Dove body wash would be my favorite(the cool cucumber was the one I used). I am currently using Caress, but I do not really like it. It is just what I have right now.

Every thing besides the mark. skincare you can find at a drugstore. :)

I use vitamins whenever I think of it. I use the skin, hair, and nails vitamins you can find at Walmart. One a day women's or the Alive! energy vitamin for women.

Sometime I will post some natural or homemade skincare stuff I have found around the internet.

Because I am a Sigma Affiliate, I was able to receive a brush to review and give away. I have been trying out this brush for a week and honestly, I just needed a day to have the impression I got. :)

First impression of the brand:

1. The packaging is super cute. It came with a message and it was nicely in a plastic sleeve.
2. They seem very professional and clean.
3. The shipping was quick!

Is the Sigma E25 Blending brush a good brush? Why or why not?

Yes! I have used a few other brushes to blend my eye shadows and they just did not give me the results I wanted. When I would try to blend, it would put the color in one spot and sorta moved the color, but it ended up having a harsh line or did not blend smoothly with the other colors. I had to work extra hard to even have it look decent.
However, when I used the Sigma E25 Blending brush, it immediately blended perfectly. It was almost effortless. Yes, I sound like I am over stating, but no, I assure you this brush made my day! It makes my makeup routine so much faster and it makes my eye shadow look so pretty by blending it so nicely. When you use it, you do not have to put that much color on the brush, because it is so easy to blend.

Is there anything bad about the brush?


I really cannot say anything bad about it.

What is good about this brush?
1. It is very soft to the touch and does not hurt sensitive skin. I have problems with harsh brushes, but this one is super soft and smooth.

2. It blends perfectly and easily.

3. It is small, because of being a travel size. You can fit it anywhere.

4. Bristles do not fall out and that is a huge plus!!

Out of everything that I own, I will give you my top makeup products that I use daily or would recommend to anyone. I will try to give an alternative to some of the pricer products.
I do not have a number for the top products but I will start with the first one:

1. MAC Fix +- I have added this to my top makeup products pretty recently. When I first got it I was not sure what was the hype about this product. I love the scent, it feels nice on my skin, and it does hydrate, but what was so awesome about this product? It was only when I did not use it that often that I realized how effective it is in my makeup routine. First, I have dry/combination skin and I found out that if I spray this on my face and then let the dry, as well as spray once on my brush, most of the time my foundation will look even and hydrated instead of flakey and dry like it can be at times. This product also has many uses. I spray it in my damp hair after a shower and it helps with the frizz. You can spray it on an eye shadow brush and have pure color on your eyes. It is really a nice product to have.  You do not need it, however it makes life easier.  -$20 for 3.4 fl oz.

An alternative to this pricey face spray is mark.'s Mist Opportunity Multi-Tastker Refresher. It has grapefruit and lemon grass and kiwi for hydration and refreshing smell. I use this as well for my face before foundation or just for a nice spritz of hydration. You could use it during the summer whenever you are feeling sweaty or hot. It helps the skin heal and is a very nice way to feel fresh.  I love both products. This one is only $8 for 6.7 fl oz.! That is a big difference!

Both are great and both give great results. The MAC on is pricey, a little bit better quality and has less product. mark. which is less money and just as good. You can get the Mac fix + here(or any MAC counter) and the mark. one here at my store. Check both out!

2. Makeup Forever HD foundation- I had to try this foundation regardless of the price because of how great it is. I got this about a year ago and I have to say that I love it. I got the wrong shade, so it was slightly darker, but it was summer time so I was not too concerned. What is so good about this foundation? One, it feels like there is NOTHING on your  face. It feels like skin and is not greasy or dry. It may not be full coverage, so if you do not like that it may be annoying, however it makes your complextion flawless, slightly glowing, and in pictures your face looks great! This foundation was designed to make your pictures look flawless. It does not have any glitter or shimmer so it will not let your face look white in pictures, unless your flash was bad. You do not need to use that much to get it over your entire face, which means it will last a long time! And, it lasts a while on your face through out the day! One important thing I look for in a foundation is if it will make me look like I do not have makeup on. Something that is not obvious but gives you a perfect look. This is that foundation.  $40 for 30ml.

A foundation that I would suggest that is cheaper would be Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid foundation. I have not been using a drugstore brand foundation in a while, besides my Neutrogena one. This foundation is nice, however I have some negatives about it. I like it because after is sets on your skin, it gives a nice glow, sometimes it seems too much, but it can look very nice. It smells good and is easy to apply. However, it feels a bit too runny for my taste and feels greasy for the first ten minutes it is on my face. If I touch my face, it feels a bit greasy, even when it sets. Another thing it does not last too long and falls off the face after a few hrs. Although these are what I do not like about it, a nice powder can fix the greasy problem a bit. So, I do wear this time to time when I feel like and would recommend it to anyone. Just be care when taking it out because it is VERY runny and it can be a little greasy. This foundation is a bit more obvious that it is on. You can find it at any drugstore for about $11 for 1 fl oz.

I own both and have experienced them. I would prefer the Makeup Forever one, but obviously it is a lot, but it lasts a long time. The Neutrogena is nice and does do a good job, it just does not last as long. You can pick a foundation that is good enough for now, or a foundation that is something that will last a long time.

3. mark. Glow Baby Glow- I am not usually a lipgloss person. I do not like how they were sticky or stuck to my hair. I did not care for them. This was until I received my first Glow Baby Glow from mark. I did not know what to expect because I did not care for lip glosses, however when I put it on I noticed how smooth and non-sticky it was. It had a slight mint taste and smelled really good. It gives you a slight tingle which I like. It looks very natural and pretty on my lips. I put this as one of my tops because I cannot help but put it on daily. I almost like it as much as my burt's bees lip balm. It is only $6 and if you get two of them you get a free connecter and that is only $12. They are super cute and you can carry it in a small purse. To get these click here.

4. Buxom Lash(Bare Essentials)- This mascara is by far my favorite. It use to be Benefit Bad Gal Lash which is still one of my favorites, but this mascara makes me want it more. I got a sample one time when I went to Sephora and I loved it ever since. I have been using it for about three months. This mascara does not clump and uses just enough product when pulling it out that it gives the lashes a nice full look. It even makes them longer. It is not extremely volumizing, but it is just right for me. It makes my lashes perfectly the way I want them. It is $20 for the full size at Sephora.

An alternative to a mascara that I like at the drugstore would be covergirl's Lash Blast. This mascara is super nice. It gives the lashes a nice even look and does a great job making them not flake. It does not clump as well. $8 at a drugstore.

5. Benefit Bronzer and Highlighter Duo- This is something I got from my mother-and-law at my bridal shower. That was a year ago and I still love it. I still have a lot of product left. It is a great contour color for the face and gives a nice even glow to the face. I highly suggest this if you are looking for a nice bronzer. You can use the color separately. I do that sometimes. The highlighter is nice. I do not use the brush that comes with it that often, but it is nice to have when you are traveling. It is about $20 at any Sephora or Benefit counter.

An alternative to this would be mark. bronze pro bronzing powder. This is a very nice bronzer which is only half the price as the benefit. Either one is great! $10 here.


6.  That Gal face brightening primer- I actually ran out of this a while ago, but want more of it! I realize that after I have not used it for awhile I miss it! It goes on easily and I really feel it does keep on your foundation. I am not sure if it actually brightens my skin, but it does a great job with keeping my foundation on. It smells nice and you do not need a lot to get it all over your face. I had a sample version and I need to purchase the fully size soon! It is $28 at any Sephora.

An alternative to this would be Hard Candy's face primer. It is not as effective, but it is cheap and is good for now, until you want something better. It goes on easily, and it does not feel greasy. I use it now, until I get the Benefit one. :) It is under $10 at any drugstore.

7. Makeup Forever Aqua Eye eye liner- I just got these a while ago for a Valentine/birthday present, and I always go for them. I use the black eye liner the most and they glide on smoothly and easy to use. It lasts for a very long time. I would recomend these to anyone. They are $17 each or $36 for the Rock forever kit that comes with 6 half size liners.

An alternative for liners would be covergirl liners. They are easy to use and are smooth. They do not last as long, but the color is great! $5-$6 each at any drugstore.


8. mark. flip for it or any color compact- I go to this very often. Because it was so many options, I can use it for different reasons. Sometimes I go to it for the lip colors or just needing the blush. It can be carried anywhere and it has a small mirror so if you want to touch up, it is right there! I have mentioned this before, so obviously I love it and highly recommend them! Only $20 for eye shadow, blush, lip color and even sometimes creme eye shadow.  Get it here! There are different things in each new one that comes out.



9. Urban Decay Eye shadow primer potion- I love this stuff! Every time I try another eye primer or do not even have a primer on, I hate it! I need this. It really does keep the shadows on. It will keep it from creasing, but only if you do not put too much on your lid. It is soft and light. It is not greasy and lasts a long time! You can get it at any Sephora for $18. 

Alternative? I have used one other eye primer and it is Hard Candy. But I would not recommend it to anyone because I feel it creases too much and does not really make your shadow last long. Anyone have a suggestion for a cheap eye primer?

As you may have read recently, I posted a little about Sigma brushes and how I cannot wait to own my very own set. I signed up to be an Affiliate of this company because not only do I want to tell everyone about this brand, I want to be apart of the brand. I contacted them to review a brush and I qualified. I mentioned on my other post here, about the brand mark. I have an awesome flip for and I decided to do a look with those products. I included the mark. mascara.

Here is the look! I used the lighter shade on my lid and brow bone, and the brown on the crease. I used the red gloss in the flip for it. It is a very natural look and easy to do.

Last year my sister found this site and bought her own palettes. She told me that she loved them and were decent quality. She was excited to have many colors to choose from. She got this palette and a 88 palette. I expressed how I may buy a palette since they are really cheap ($30 and under), and I might as well try them out myself. However, I was planning on doing that Christmas time. Then she told me that she was sending me a present and not to buy the Bh cosmetics palette *hinthint :)

Thus, now I have been using it for months and now I can share my full review on it.

Lets start off with the cons:
1. There are many light colors that do not show up well. I have to cake it on in order to slightly see them. I will say about five of them do this which is a lot of the light colors.
2. The eye shadow is a little too chalky for my taste, but it not too bad.
3. They are hard to blend sometimes, especially darker colors.
4. Even with a primer, they only last a few hours. :(
5. I do not really like how big the palette feels when I want to create a look. I have to open it and move the top to the side, and I do not have much room in my small bathroom. But hey, you might. ;)

Now the Pros:
1. The pricing is cheap!
2. Good starter kit for newbies. The palettes come with a lot of colors and ranges, so it will be fun to create many looks.
3. Many of the colors are very pigmented.
4. Easy to open.
5. You could wear a different look for a month!
6. Good range of shimmers and matte shadows.


Okay, that is how I think of the 120 3rd Edition, since I own it. I will show the swatches I took today and a simple look using this palette.



And this is the look I created today using only this palette. I used a dark navy blue, a couple of light blues, a light grey on the lid, and black for the outer V.

Makeup and clothes could make you look good or make you feel good, but what matters the most is character.

There are many girls and guys out there that are truly awe-strucking people, however their character is what makes them ugly. Your actions are what affects people. You want to look beautiful? You first need to start inward. I am sure many of you have dealt with those very beautiful people are just plain stuck up or rude. That right there makes you not want to hang out with them, even though they are very attractive. Even guys after awhile do not want to stick around with a girl who thinks too highly of herself. However not all very attractive people are stuck up.

Something to remember is do not mistake confidence with arrogance. Someone who is confident in themselves does not mean that they think highly of themselves.  They just finally accepted who they are and are happy with that. Good for them! I would love to have more confidence.

I know many of you out there do not care what others think of you, so this post probably does not affect you. You may say, who cares what people think, I can do what I want. That may be true, to a point. Although staying true to yourself means not caring what people think because you are not doing what everyone else is doing, you still should watch your actions because caring for others is what keeps people connected to each other. I am sure even you have encountered someone who just did not care about anything and you did not want to be around them. Do no live life alone. Although this world is full of hate or negativity, there are still people who care and want to be there for you.

Lastly, we all have our moments of inner-ugliness, however the more we strive to better our selves and be who we are, the more beautiful we become. The most beautiful people I know are the ones who stay true to themselves and are positive about life. Lets work on being inwardly beautiful so we can be outwardly beautiful. I know, cheesy but it's a fact.

My 10 ways to build character:
1. Have a hobby.
2. Take care of your loved ones.
3. Compliment someone.
4. Smile.
5. Learn how to cook or bake cookies(I just tonight).
6. Share.
7. Stay positive.
8. Learn to apologize.
9. Teach someone something new.
10. Admit your mistakes.

Ice cream.

Who doesn't like ice cream?

This is a picture of me today eating dots for the first time. I asked my hubby to take a picture.

Since I love talking about beauty as you can tell, I am wearing no makeup, hair is natural, and wearing glasses(which I hate). I like the glasses, but hate wearing glasses.

I like wearing a t-shirt or tank with shorts or undies when I am chilling at home with the hubs. Nothing too pretty, but it's so dang comfy.

I like to look around online for new things to consider purchasing. I love watching youtube reviews and tutorials. I recently came across a brand called profusion cosmetics while I was on facebook looking at my friend's pictures. She had a picture of this really big eye shadow palette that look really pretty. I saw it said profusion and had to look it up. They are super cheap, and from a few reviews seem to be decent for the price. If you are new to makeup and not sure what to get or may want to buy for your sister or niece..ect, this seems to be a good idea. You can get them online or find them at Ross. Let me know if you own any and how you feel about the brand.

I own a BHcosmetics eye shadow palette which is another brand that is cheap. I have their 120 palette 3rd Edition. I may do a blog post about it with swatches. I would give a 3 out of 5 stars only because there are many pigmented colors but many that do not show up as well. Plus, even with a primer sometimes they do not last on my eyes. But besides that, they are decent for beginners.


Again, another awesome thing that I wanted to blog about is my favorite makeup brushes that I really want to own. Why would they be my favorite when I do not own any? Because they are recommended by many gurus and artists, and are the same quality as MAC, but a bit cheaper. Check them out here. If you happen to purchase any, let me know how you like them! I will be sure to blog about them once I receive them.  I really want this kit called Make me Crazy-Purple which comes with 12 essential brushes. You do not even need anymore than what this kit provides! I believe in quality rather than quantity. Seriously, the better the product is, the easier it is and better you look!

*Of course I mentioned in a earlier post about the cheaper target eco brushes, which is a good starter. If you finally want to upgrade and get better brushes, check Sigma out. :)

I am sure some of you are the type of person when approached by someone who tells you that you are beautiful, you shrugged it off because you do not feel that way. You may feel nice when told that, but every time you look into the mirror you criticize yourself. Well let me tell you girl, YOU ARE beautiful!

I have met many girls, who in most eyes would be considered gorgeous, think they are not attractive! Why? Society. Media. Magazines. Peers. Family.

These are just some things that can affective a women's view of themselves. What is the ideal women body and face according to most magazines or models? Skinny(toned), nice boobs, full lips, and long victoria's secret hair. Why is it that they put us girls into a VERY small category and think we all can achieve this EXACT look to be considered attractive? We all have different body shapes, different genes, different complexions, and different styles. You know what message I wish was actually out there instead of looking sexy to get sex? Be happy and healthy.  MakeupGeek(Marlena), a makeup artist from youtube, says this after each of her videos.
I think we should take care of ourselves and stay healthy. The better you feel, the happier and more confident you are. Change something about your lifestyle if need be to achieve a healthy body or mind. We do not need to be super skinny, but looking healthy is nice. We do no need to wear tons of makeup, however looking clean is a plus. We do not need to wear awesome sexy clothes, however dressing in the right shape and size is a must. We do not need to look all the same with the perfect abs and sexy beach hair. It saddens me that girls want to get their face done because they do not look perfect. Even young teens are doing it! I know these girls just want to be happy with themselves, but who told them they are not beautiful enough because of their tiny flaw? Society. We are surrounded by it. Disclaimer: Plastic surgery is also used to fix things like cleft lips and things such as that, and that is understandable. But changing your nose because of a slight bump is just crazy. You put your life at stake when you go under the knife.
Am I against plastic surgery? No. I just feel we are conditioned to look perfect so I understand why women/teens do it.

We need to be ourselves and take care of ourselves. If you do not take any time for yourself, you will never be happy. I know many of you love to take care of others and really are happy doing that, but after a long day of doing nothing but work or taking care of this and that, you want some you time. Take care of yourself and be who you want to be. You feel it makes people happy when you take care of them, but them seeing you take some time to take care of yourself to will make them even more happy because you are happy. I know in some cases, some do not appreciate you, and I am sorry you are in a situation like that(many are). I know you are the only one that gets anything done and have no time for yourself. You need to voice your problem. You need you time! I wish you luck!

Be confident in yourself. Buy a simple outfit that flatters your body or wear your favorite perfume. What ever makes you feel happy.

If you are the type of person who needs to verbally hear compliments all the time to feel good about yourself, remember that a lot of people do not know that is your need. Some need to hear things more than others. Do not get upset about not hearing something when you get a new haircut or new dress or this or that. You feel happy with what you do or what you wear, so it is okay if someone does not say something about it, because after all, you like it. :) You are beautiful.

I have many mark. products(and want so much more), and I like them all. I will review all that I have and give you my honest opinions on each product.



1. mark. flip for it-Urban Neutrals(this particular one is not out anymore but there new ones. The new spring one is beautiful!) These are amazing! I love how you get so many different products in one thing. You get two eye shadows, a blush, then flip(for)it and see four lip colors(2 gloss and 2 lip color). I want more of these!

As stated clearly, this blog is about being your own beauty as well as talking about makeup, fashion, and just plain rambles. Today I entered a Sigma contest for the Spring and I love having a direction or challenge when doing makeup. I was inspired by green grass, and the sun. I will post a few pictures of my look and what I used to achieve it. I am still learning and far from amazing, but this is my beauty and my journey. :) Perhaps when I look back over the coming years I can see how far I have come in makeup. If you want to achieve this look I used my Bh cosmetics 120 palette 3rd Edition(you can go to www.bhcometics.com), and I used my Hop Topic green palette, which may not be there any more, however you can use any green colors!
Black eye liner, and black mascara.
