You know how it is with curly hair, you must tame that beast!

I know that it has taken me a long time( and a lot of money) to find products that actually work great with my hair. Not something that is a temporary fix, but actually gets my hair healthy and clean without all of those chemicals and toxins.
I am big on the sulfate-free products. Why? Because they actually treat your hair the way it should be treated by giving it what it needs. Here is how I get my beastly hair to look great, feel great, and remain that way.

EO Products and why I love them:
First off let me rave about my favorite hair products because I truly believe these will help you out so much! EO send me a sampler pack of about six products about a few months ago and I feel in love immediately. They are organic/all natural .  This is their brand promise: We provide natural personal products that perform and enhance your beauty and well being.
You can read my review here. I love everything and still have quite a bit from that pack. I want to get full sizes and I actually won the detangler from a friend of mine on her blog. I LOVE the detangler!

The Detangler: This does an amazing job with letting your brush get through your untamable beast and also gives your hair some shine and body! It has amazing essential oils in it and other great things that nourish your hair. I use this right after the shower. A MUST HAVE for me!
The Shampoo and Conditioner: These have so many good things in them it makes me jump for joy. I love knowing my hair is getting the best treatment it can. The shampoo is also sulfate-free! I love using these before the detangler. They have many types to choose from.

Sometimes you need a little more moisture for your hair so a deep conditioner is a great way to bring in extra nourishment to your mane. Do not over do it or you could look like a grease ball. EO has a great one and I love it!

Another great product to use for curly hair is a flat comb brush. Something like the picture to the left. I do not own this exact brush.
This type of brush helps with being a bit more gentle on the hair and can brush your curls out better. Just make sure you are gentle and take your time.

A great tip for curly hair is using a little natural Jojoba oil on the ends of your hair to help with frizz.

My best NUMBER ONE tip for curly hair is make sure you get a trim at least once every one and half to two months. This really helps us curly hair girls because we tend to get so many split ends due to our hair trying to curl in knots.

Water, vitamins, and just good hygiene helps a lot! Taking care of yourself is key.

Also, remember to wash your hair every other day to every two days, instead of everyday to help your natural oils in your hair to nourish your hair so you do not dry out your hair. This is very helpful.

I hope this was helpful for you girls/guys out there who need help with their curly beasts. Let me know if you have any questions and I would love to answer!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Awesome review! I have coarse curly hair, I'll have to look into it. I agree w/ you about trimming. I notice a HUGE change in my hair every 6-8 weeks which means it's trim time!

  2. Thanks for the encouragement. This is definitely what I needed to hear today! As a theatre major, I wonder a lot whether or not I'm doing the right thing, but it's what I love and what makes me happy.
